Quite a powerful and energetic show. Achilles Last Stand is not present on this concert and appears not to have been performed. Plant is in very good voice at this show. His vocal adornments during Kashmir and Stairway To Heaven resemble those from the 1977 tour. The firecracker incident during White Summer cuts that song down to two and half minutes. Page did take a wrong turn during White Summer and was attempting to find his way back when the firecracker struck. The announcer asks the audience to bring to the stage the perpetrator so they can have a word with him. After the announcement, the band returns with a vengeance. Here is the whole announcement translated from its original language: "Achtung! Jimmy asks that you please refrain from throwing firecrackers as it is ruining his heroin buzz ... the only pyro that is allowed is what the band has on stage. Next kraut caught throwing an M80 and Jimmy will turn you into a newt and turn your girl into a slave of the devil. Now sit back and enjoy his 30 minute butchering of White Summer." Page does lose his grip during Rock And Roll's guitar solo, but he delivers an inspired and lengthy solo during Stairway To Heaven. After a light-hearted guitar introduction, the band launches into the most inextricable version of Whole Lotta Love ever. Boogie Woogie holds the line. |
