A really great, virtuoso concert from the whole band! Lots of little surprises here, including a rare version of White Summer played by Jimmy at the end of Dazed And Confused! Immigrant song has some excellent war cries from Plant, but as usual in 1970 America, crowd troubles threaten the gig. In the middle of his solo in Heartbreaker, Jimmy stopped playing and Robert said: "Actually you can turn down the house lights now. Turn the lights off! Everybody sit still. Before we carry on, the lights go down. No listen, if we're gonna have a good time and you are, we're gonna have to work hand in glove with the so-called authorities. So, you sit down and they'll be cool and turn the lights off. So let's wait for them to turn off the lights." But authorities obliged so Plant said: "That's not a victory - that's common sense, so don't take it as a victory!" Pagey then continued his guitar solo. |
